The colonial village Barra de São João . . .
.
a little nice place on the sun coast «Costa do Sol»,
in the state of Rio de Janeiro, at the mouth of the river São João. The village
is located 170 km north of the famous city Rio de Janeiro, between Buzios
and Rio das Ostras.
Once the place had been important to coffee and wood out of the mountains
(about 8000 inhabitants).
The river São João – in the background the mountain «morro São João» – is full of pretty colonial houses. An avenue with very old trees and mangroves border the river and the «flamboyants» with red blooming are illuminating the area in the summer.
